I’d really love to be able to give a review of the food. We totally intended on eating here. But alas, we were never given the chance. We arrived excited to eat at a new place. We sat at the middle bar (an area not table served but not at the actual bar). The bartender eyed us up, but made no attempt to greet us or come over. After about 10 minutes of no one coming over and me having that “is anyone coming??” look, some tall fella named David sauntered over and took our drink order, which he did bring rather expeditiously (which is why this review isn’t 1 Star). So we settled in, perused the food menu, & waited for David, or anybody for that matter, to come back. Sadly, after 25 minutes of sitting abandoned, we gave up and left (we never even got a check. After flagging down one of the 3 young ladies standing around by the wait station to find out if we could get our check, David came over and just said, $6.50. We paid in cash and left).
Took my niece out for lunch today 12/05/17
It's a very welcome change. I guess Frederick needed a concept like this. The choice and quality of food is excellent and most appropriately priced. The selection of beers on tap is also excellent. I would congratulate the entire staff and management for making my evening a memorable one. Three cheers...
Awesome atmosphere, service, and food! So nice to find a really good restaurant with British, Welsh, Scottish and Irish dishes. Would definitely recommend this quality pub food. Food suggestions: Appetizer- Samosas, Lamb meatballs. Drink: Butter Beer. Dinner: Any of the meat Pies!
While we were there, there were several employees standing at the wait station doing nothing but chatting. The bartender was so uninterested in anyone but 2 friends she had sitting at the bar that she never bothered to wait on us (even though we were technically in the bar section according to the host). And at one point she left the bar entirely (clearly disregarding those other folks sitting there) and went out front (not even out back) to smoke with her friend.
I have been sick to my stomach since lunch, and my niece just texted me that she's been sick from lunch as well. I would not recommend this place.
My wife and I visited for lunch. We had a couple of the meat pies which were really good. The bill was reasonable, and the service was prompt. I think that we will try it for dinner when we get a chance.
We were polite about our food being horrible, and just decided that we would never go back. Unfortunately,
I waited tables for years, as well as bartended, so I get bad days. And I’ve had horrible service at restaurants, but usually by a single person. This is the first time I’ve ever seen an entire staff employ the same terrible customer service - that of absolute disengagement and disregard for customers. And because of that, we won’t ever go back.
