The staff were perfect with my 2 yr old on her 1st visit. Very patient and kind. She enjoyed her cleaning so much, she asked them to do it again when they were done. I definitely recommend Dr. D and team.
That being said.
Like many medical offices, the billing department walks the fine line between insurance fraud and appropriate medical billing. I was able to get a first hand look at this when I paid out of pocket and looked at my itemized bill. My daughter is 3 years old and this was her first dental experience. My wife had called the office and the receptionist explained that they dental hygienist would not push the appointment past my daughter's comfort level, which she did not. The dental hygienist did a wonderful job attempting to get my daughter comfortable with the tools needed for a cleaning. Unfortunately, my daughter was not having any of it. While the dental hygienist was attempting to show my daughter how she would clean her teeth, she used a kids toothbrush to brush my daughter's teeth for 15-20 seconds. That 15-20 second tooth brushing showed up on my bill as a $75.00 cleaning on top of the $95.00 check up fee. (she got a check up... I was cool with paying the $95.00, However, she did NOT get a cleaning worth $75.00.
When I called and said you accidentally charged me for a cleaning. The office manager defended the $75.00 tooth brushing and told me that "Any time we remove plaque we can bill for a cleaning".
Walked in and we were greeted right away. Called back on time to his appointment and my son who is not 2 yet, was upset but the doctor was very friendly and patient and didn't seem bothered it. She was amazing and made me fee comfortable as well! We will definitely be going back.
The conversation I had with the manager lasted about 15 minutes too long. He explained to me how they billed insurance companies blah blah blah. After getting my 75 bucks back, I offered him my free advice. Don't defraud the customers paying out of pocket the way you defraud the insurance companies.
My two boys (10 and 8) were very comfortable and had a pleasant experience. They didn't want to leave! I was very impressed with the facility. Very sleek, clean, and modern. The entire staff was phenomenal! Very helpful and answered all my questions and concerns. Dr. D was amazing! She walked me through all of the details and options for my boys' treatments. My overall visit there was fantastic. I had very little wait time and we were in and out, and on our way.
I would first like to complement the staff and the immaculately clean office. Everyone greeted us with a smile and was extremely polite.
My kids LOVED this office! I was so impressed with the services and care they offered us. The staff was friendly, down to earth, and honest. Very pleased and excited we found such a great office. My kids are bagging me to go back! How awesome is that :)
