Went to celebrate our 22 anniversary and purchased the Chef's Kitchen Tasting Menu for two. While it is labeled a tasting menu, it is supposed to be an adequate dinner for two by the end with all 11 courses. It almost wasn't enough as we were eyeing fast food joints on the ride home. That said, the food was delicious and the atmosphere and service exquisite. Less one star for the teeny portions and our grumbling stomachs...otherwise a great time and place for a romantic celebration.
BEWARE ONLINE RESERVATIONS
My wife and I went to Volt for our anniversary. The evening was as special as we had wished. I had informed the restaurant ahead that it was our anniversary and that I am vegetarian. There were some options on the menu that were vegetarian as designed, but our waiter described how some of the non-vegetarian meals could be adapted. Both of us had a four course meal. I asked for a non-alcoholic cocktail, which the bar made for me. It was really quite the experience. Each dish is a feast for all the senses. I've read reviews of people complaining about the portion size. Yes, of course, everything was so delicious that we would have eaten more, but we did not leave hungry. This restaurant gets an enthusiastic five stars from me.
I made a reservation for New Years Eve several weeks ago. This was not just supposed to be any normal new years event. This was the day I had planned on proposing to my long time girlfriend. I even went as far as making a note of my plan on the reservation. Today I received a call from a Volt staff member notifying me that my reservation was no longer valid due to a special dinner event for the evening. It is truly frustrating that a restaurant the caliber of Volt would allow something like this to happen. I can honestly say that I will never again plan a special occasion (ENGAGEMENT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!) at Volt!
Fantastic multicourse meal. The short ribs were some of the best I've ever had and the chocolate dessert was a perfect end to the meal. The staff was attentive and professional.
