Great selection of LPs, mainly rock, with about 15-20 feet of jazz too. Plus classical, and a smattering of other genres. (Also carries T-shirts, art/souvenirs, old stereos, some CDs etc.) It's a basement store, not conspicuous, but (see photo, courtesy Google) worth making the effort to look for it. Judging from the titles of the used records on offer, as well as the condition (all lovingly cleaned and neatly sleeved and racked), I'm guessing these guys are very choosy about what they buy. The owner (Bob) is a friendly guy who shows you where everything is and leaves you to browse in peace. When my family comes in and drags me away, as we're paying, Bob says "Everything is guaranteed". But I can't even play them until I'm home 10,000 miles away! "Doesn't matter. Send me an email from 10,000 miles away and I'll give you your money back." Of course, when I got home, the LPs all played just fine. I knew that. Thank you!
I liked it. Well organized and great owner. The prices were fair and found one very rare gem that has been on my list. Will shop here again. Worth a visit from out-of-town. Was told he will gladly take back any vinyl there is a problem with. All of mine were in VG condition and clean. You can feel the level of dedication in the place.
Nice selection of used LPs and CDs, with an emphasis on the former (that's why it's called Vinyl Acres!). The owners are not only music experts but in fact or legendary musicians from the DC area rock and roll scene. Good place to sell vinyl as well as buy it.
In a town with three record stores, this is by far the best. incredible selection of new and used vinyl, occasional live music and very cool vintage audio gear! Owned by D.C. area rock royalty. All records are meticulously cleaned by machine and unconditionally guaranteed! A great experience.
