The service is of course much better the less busy it is (that's any restaurant) but they do their best! I mean, it busy for a reason, right? :)
Went with a group of four for lunch. Loved the chicken pot pie fritters, so different . Haven't seen anything like that on a menu before. Got the fried chicken I think they made it with old Bay I like the flavor but it wasn't that southern thick fried chicken that you picture it was more of a thin crispy skin. The sweet tea has a fruity falvor to it that we liked, again something a little different. The atmosphere of the restaurant is new and trendy, The booths are pretty tight it was hard to fit all of our jackets and purses and there is no coat rack. More space at the table would've been nice it was crowded. Would go back to try all of their yummy looking cocktails at dinner time.
Delicious food! I had the fried chicken, which was great - a very large portion, easily shared by two people! Duck fat fries, cauliflower and the beet salad were all fantastic. Pleasant wait staff. Not too loud. Would highly recommend a meal here!

Well done scrambled eggs and crispy bacon! So good!!! A diner is only good if you get crispy bacon when you ask for crispy bacon!

Oh man - this place is terrible. The idea is cool. The location is cool. The service is great. But the food - my god, the food is horrible! We were in Frederick with a friend and a local recommended the place. But good night - have they ever tasted a tomato?! Neither of the three people at my table were impressed - and all refused to-go boxes. Yeah - it didn't taste good fresh, wouldn't even want to imagine microwaved.
At first, I did not know that this restaurant was owned by the same owners of VOLT but I’ve should have known since their food was amazing.
There is a very upbeat vibe at Family Meal, the staff is pleasant, and the bathroom is clean.
