So now you've heard a little bit about that stuff, here's the good stuff: Our counselor is THE BEST. Mr. Gonzales is one of those people you can tell anything to. If I have (another) problem, I can come to him, and he listens. He doesn't judge you or tell you that he's disappointed in you. He listens to you until you're finished, Then tells you what he thinks. He's honest, and to the point. What people don't understand is that you're not snitching if you are in physical or mental danger. I had an issue with two girls, and I came to him about it. He helped me see both points of view, and he mediated a discussion between us. Since then I have had no problems with them or their friends. Some teachers are amazing as well. Most of the teachers are great, but a few are OUTSTANDING. My History teacher, Mr. Cutsail, totally understands kids. He is really nice and is funny as well. He isn't uptight and he is very fair. My Math teacher Mr. Frevert, is really nice as well. He gives us a lot of freedom, and we decide and learn how to manage our time. There are other amazing teachers, but we're going to keep moving.

I have people in my classes who just do whatever. They show up to class twenty minutes in because they don't feel like going. It's not the worst school, but it could be better. There is a lot of room for improvement. There's too many fights. About 3/4 of the way into term one, there were 21 suspensions in sixth grade (my grade) alone. Keep in mind there is like 250 (ish) people per grade. That's about 1/12 of the grade getting suspended. I was one of them, along with one of my now best friends. Other reviews haven't gotten into details, I won't get too specific either, but there are some people you want to avoid. I have heard about and seen people bringing knives and lighters, and keep them in their lockers and backpacks. One teacher retired and her classroom has had a sub for the whole year, student support comes in there at least once a day. I think there have been around 17-20 big fights in our grade.

My experience at this school wasn't very pleasant. Some of the teachers I've dealt with were very impolite, and for no reason at all. Not only were the some of the teachers disrespectful, but many of the students as well. The punishments given do not help the students in any way, shape or form. Instead, they end up misbehaving even more. Fortunately though, I am not one of those students. I've always been courteous, gotten good grades, and never did anything to get myself in major trouble. But parents, I highly do NOT recommend sending your children to this school. Your children deserve so much better. I really do hope this school's staff reads the reviews, Monocacy Middle School needs a lot of improvement. It's far from the best.

And I can understand why you won't want to send your kids here, but that's just technically doing the same thing as shielding then away from the world, until it's too late. But of course, there are going to be people on these reviews acting and being bias

don't be edgy and not go to this school . it is terrible people act cool even though they are cringe the teachers get you in trouble for nothing.

So don't call the mustangs trash or garbage.

I would tell you more, but to sum this up, Monocacy Middle School is a nice place to go. I am not unhappy here, and I do like the fact that it is extremely diverse. That helps you sort out what to say and what not to say. It's not all bad. Some people are, but most people are nice. It's like the world: some people you want to avoid, but most people are really nice and care about you. It's not a bad school (mostly) a few people can ruin it for everyone. That's all.

The teachers are pretty nice, and they do try to help; but let's face it: they don't see or hear everything. The kids can be bad. And the problem is that the parents don't care. So when a kid gets in trouble, it doesn't matter what you do, you can't make them do anything. Their parents don't care, so neither do they. Don't get me wrong, it's a great place to make new friends and most teachers are nice. Some kids are too. But you have to be careful which opinions you share with who.

The school is OK. Nothing special but it's decent, I guess. Most of the teachers are cool. It's the kids that are trash. They'd always save seats on the bus, always swear, always belittle other kids, disrespect teachers that try so hard to help them. That's how it was for my grade at least. I hope things get better. I'm sharing my experience. If the teachers were as bad as the kids, the school wouldn't get any starts.

People think it's bad, but it's technically the real world. There's going to be fights, and cussing at all schools(and the real world), so why just zone down to this one? I've gone there, and just learned that this is technically how the world is, and you can't hide that. The only reason that it looks bad is because they don't have enough money, yet the teachers are great. Some bad one's here and there, but otherwise great. I've made a LOT of friends there, so it was terrible when I left it, but my new school isn't any better instead of the looks. The kids act a similar way.

But this is just my experience and opinion
